SMH: Philly Father Shot 10 Time while Protecting Pregnant Daughter

He put his life on the line for his daughter and unborn grandchild.
A Philadelphia dad was critically injured after trying to protect his recently married pregnant daughter during a shooting possibly sparked by her husband's ex-wife's jealousy.
Frederick Waring was shot at least 10 times on his upper body Sunday night when he shielded his 23-year-old daughter from bullets, hours after she got married, said Philadelphia Police Lt. John Walker.
"The father came forward for his daughter as any father would do," he added. "Unfortunately he took the brunt of the injuries."
His daughter, who wasn't identified and is five months pregnant, posted a photo of her wedding on social media — which her husband's ex-wife saw, Walker said.
The ex-wife and two men later showed up at Waring's home in the Kingsessing neighborhood to confront his daughter, police said.
Walker said there was "some type of altercation or fight" before the suspects fired 17 gunshots from two different guns.
The daughter was shot twice — in her left hip and left arm. She was in stable condition, and the twins she's carrying weren't affected, police said. -(Elizabeth Elizalde, NY Daily News)
