Man Only Gets 5-15 Years For Killing Grandmother & Keeping Her Body
I don't know everything about the law, but this just doesn't seem right. I've seen plenty of people go to jail for longer for a couple bags of crack. I'm just sayin!!
A Queens man who strangled his grandmother and hid her body in garbage bags in an upstairs bedroom will serve five to 15 years in prison for the crime, prosecutors said.
Christopher Fuhrer, 31, throttled Erika Kraus-Breslin, 85, on May 21, 2016. He then kept her body in garbage bags, and continued wrapping her in more as the stench of her decomposition got worse.
In all, he placed her in 16 trash bags for four-and-a-half months, and poured paint onto her and sprayed Febreeze to blunt the smell.
Prosecutors said Fuhrer, who was Kraus-Breslin’s caregiver for five years, never intended to kill her. Instead, he had “reckless contact” with her which “compressed (her) neck,” causing her to choke to death.
Cops found her body in the corner of a second-floor bedroom, next to a fan.Fuhrer pleaded guilty in August to manslaughter and concealment of a human corpse. -(Graham Rayman, NY Daily News)
