Crazy: Over 300 Gators Set To Escape Sanctuary In Houston

Crazy: Over 300 Gators Set To Escape Sanctuary In Houston

Just when you thought it couldn't get any crazier in Houston, this hits the news.

The record breaking rains in Houston have gotten to the point where an alligator sanctuary will soon be unable to hold its 350 gators within its gates if more rain falls.

It turns out, Hurricane (now tropical storm) Harvey is predicted to hit Texas AGAIN.

“We’re less than a foot away from water going over the fences,” Owner Gary Saurage told KDFM. “All of these are certified, high fences, but when it won’t quit it won’t quit.

“We’ve worked around the clock and I don’t know what else to do.”Forecasters have already predicted at least another foot of rain for the area.

Other wayward gators have taken up residence in backyards and driveways. Arlene Kelsh on Saturday spotted an alligator floating through her property and when she returned Sunday to check on it, another had joined him.

Chris Stephens, who runs alligator relocation company Gator Squad, told the Washington Posthe’s gotten plenty calls from terrified residents. He advised people keep their distance and opt against going for a selfie with the reptile. -(NY Daily News)
