Wow: Oregon Makes Possession Of Coke, Heroin, Meth A Misdemeanor
It has never really made sense for people who use hard drugs to get charged with felonies as if they were selling it.
Oregon has passed a law that has effectively decriminalized the possession of many hard drugs. Oregon has been one of the cities hardest hit by drugs over the last few decades.
This is a step forward, putting tax dollars (hopefully) where they are really needed.
A bill signed by Gov. Kate Brown makes personal-use possession of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and other drugs a misdemeanor, not a felony. Oregon is one of only a few states in the U.S. that has changed the seriousness of the offense down to a misdemeanor. The Oregon District Attorney’s Association vehemently oppose the bill. -(WorldStarHipHop)
