Two female grifters snatched $16,000 in cash and jewelry from a wealthy 79-year-old tourist at a pricey Manhattan hotel, police said.
The two scantily clad women were caught on surveillance video slipping out of the Loews Regency Hotel on Park Ave. after robbing the man at about 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Cops said they met their victim in Club Macanudo, a cigar bar and restaurant that touts its “rich mahogany furniture, buttery soft leather seats,” and a menu so fancy it doesn’t list prices.
Surveillance video captured the victim leaving the club with the women and going to the hotel, which offers rooms at about $500 a night.
Once they got into his room, they grabbed a $13,000 watch and about $3,000 in cash from the visitor from Florida. Then they took off.
He suffered a scratched face, but did not require hospital treatment. -(NY Daily News)
