A mother is being charged with attempted murder after she locked her 11 year old son in a car and tried to burn him alive. She did this all because he was "overweight".
A 48-year-old mother is being accused of trying to burn her 11-year-old son alive in a car at a cemetery in Michigan.
Sherri Richter was arrested and charged with attempted murder and arson, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.She was arraigned Thursday on the felony charges and a judge set her bond at $100,000 cash or surety.During the court session, it was revealed that Richter was drunk at the time and allegedly committed the act claiming her 11-year-old son is overweight,The Monroe News reported.
Richter allegedly bound her son's wrists and locked him inside of a 2014 Ford Focus at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle Township on Tuesday morning.
'The mother ignited a fire in the trunk of the vehicle with the boy still inside,' according to the sheriff's office.The mother later attempted to ignite a fire using gasoline inside the passenger compartment where the boy sat.'The boy survived after he struggled to get out; police say she later freed him.An employee at the cemetery cut the bindings from his wrists. -(Daily Mail UK)
