A Domino's driver in Texas took his safety in his own hands and was going on deliveries strapped with a handgun. When a 16 year old allegedly tried to rob him for the pizza, he shot and killed him.

Authorities in Texas said a driver for Domino's shot and killed a 16-year-old teenager after the boy and another suspect lured the worker to a vacant home.

The Mesquite Police Department said the driver, who has not been named, was delivering an order to a home on Springwood Drive Saturday when two guys answered the door.

One of the men was armed and fired at the Domino's employee, NBC 5 reported. The driver also had a gun on him and returned fire, killing one of the teens.

Police identified the deceased suspect as Wayne Delaney Osborne, a sophomore at John Horn High School in Mesquite.

The second suspect, also 16, was arrested for aggravated robbery. His identity was not released.

Officers said the delivery driver did not have a license to carry the weapon, and they will determine if charges will be brought against him.

A Domino's Pizza spokesperson addressed the shooting Sunday, saying in a statement that the driver had been suspended "per the policy of the franchisee that owns that store" as the investigation continues.
