Fight Breaks Out After Sentencing For Woman Who Burned Baby In Scalding Water
If someone did this to any children I love, I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing.
A fight broke out as Kelly Walton was taken out of court after being sentenced to 7 years in prison for putting an infant into scalding hot water. Many think that she did it purposely.
Walton, 21, originally told the child’s mother that the baby had a reaction to soap during a bath. However, according to CBS58, she later confessed to police that she had lied, admitting that she had placed the baby in the tub before checking the water. The criminal complaint says that fifty percent of the baby’s body was burned. Medical reports also indicated that the child had been restrained after having been placed in the hot water. While in court on Wednesday, scars were visible on the child’s body.
After Walton pleaded guilty to Child Abuse-Recklessly Causing Great Harm, the judge sentenced her to seven years in prison with four years probation. Understandably, the baby’s family wanted a longer sentence for Walton, though they had no idea at sentencing what was about to occur outside of the courtroom in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“I think it was purposely done, I don’t know why she chose to throw a little 5-month-old baby, but I’ll stand with the seven years, but she should’ve gotten the whole 15,” said Rosalind Baker, the baby’s great-grandmother, according to CBS.
As everyone exited the courtroom after the emotional sentencing, a 19-year-old named Taylor Morehouse approached three women and started yelling regarding the case. The women included the child’s unnamed mother, a 27-year-old named Shontal Williams, and 47-year-old Rosalind Williams, the grandmother. -(Mad World News)
