The woman who fell is from Ethiopia and somehow managed to survive the 7 story fall. She claims that the woman she was working for cornered her in the bathroom with the intent to kill her and that is why she was trying to escape from the balcony.
"The lady put me in the bathroom and was about to kill me in the bathroom without anybody finding out, she would have thrown my body out like rubbish, so instead of staying there I went to save myself and then I fell," she said from a hospital, according to Middle East Eye. "Praise be to God, I was protected. And so, what can be done?"
The maid can be seen hanging from the window in the short video, holding on with one hand. The woman who recorded the video just kept recording, and did not try to help. She later posted the video on social media, according to the Independent.
The maid suffered a broken arm and injuries to her nose and ears, according to the Independent. The employer was hit with multiple charges, including publishing a video of someone without their consent, according to CNN.The woman who filmed the harrowing incident said she did so because she did not want to be accused of murder, the Independent reported. -(NY Daily News)
