He won the bet, but collapsed and died just minutes later.The entire incident was caught on camera phone inside of a club.
The young man was identified as Kelvin Rafael Mejía — a regular patron at the bar — who was shown gulping the alcoholic beverage down within seconds before being handed a prize of $630.Two men nearby were shown on video assisting him, but were never able to help him regain consciousness.Mejía was immediately taken into a nearby emergency room where he was declared dead.
According to El Universal, Mejía caught word of the bet going around between a group of people at one of the tables, where they were speculating how much each of them could drink in one swig. He then asked to join in on the seemingly-innocent fun. -(NY Daily News)
