Mother Arrested After Daughter Dies From A Kick In The Stomach
Kids can't be frustrating as hell, but at the end of the day, they are still kids.
This mother found that out the hard way after she inadvertently killed her own daughter. Iris Hernandez-Rivas kicked her 4 year old daughter in the stomach after she gave her trouble over brushing her teeth.
The 20-year-old Gaithersburg, Maryland resident called police on Wednesday to report that she found her daughter, Nohely Alexandra Martinez Hernandez, unresponsive in the bathroom of their home.
According to Fox News, Hernandez-Rivas initially told authorities that her daughter went into the bathroom around 11 a.m. to take a shower and 15 minutes later she found the toddler face-down in the bathtub. Hernandez-Rivas said she waited about an hour before calling 911 to report the incident.
The little girl was taken to the hospital in serious condition, and once there doctors determined that she had suffered head wounds and had bruises on her body. The girl later died at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Hernandez-Rivas was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree child abuse. She's currently being held without bond, and could face more serious charges after a medical examiner determines the child's cause of death. -(NY Daily News)
