12 Year Old Boy Charged With Capital Murder For Shooting Store Clerk
You gotta wonder what can turn somebody so young into a cold blooded killer.
An unnamed 12 year old boy in Arkansas has the states justice system questioning itself after he was charged with capital murder.
According to police, the boy shot and killed a convenience store cashier, Christy Shockley.
Under Arkansas law, however, the boy can only be held in juvenile incarceration until the age of 21. That's a slim price to pay for catching a body...
The boy is being held in a juvenile detention center on preliminary charges of capital murder and aggravated robbery.
He cannot be charged as an adult under state law, Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Stephanie Black told the Daily News.
A juvenile can be held until his or her 21st birthday. In certain cases a judge can decide whether release is proper at that time, or if the individual should serve time in an adult prison.
Juveniles cannot be given the death penalty in Arkansas, Black said. -(NY Daily News via Bossip)
