I didn't think universities could or even would, rescind their honorary degrees. That's what happened to Kanye West. He has been in the spotlight a whole lot lately, talking as if there are no consequences, still. Aside from losing a lot of money from and with businesses after making his antisemitic comments, Ye has now lost his honorary degree. According to Buzzfeed News the School of the Art Institute of Chicago has taken Ye's honorary doctorates degree from 2015 for his accomplishments and contributions to art and culture. The school's President Elissa Tenny wrote a letter that read, “Ye’s actions do not align with SAIC’s mission and values, and we’ve rescinded his honorary degree." Terry continued with. "His anti-Black, antisemitic, and incendiary statements, particularly those directed at Black and Jewish communities, are disgusting and condemnable".
