Canada Introduces New Law To Freeze Handgun Sales

You know there are other countries looking at America, shaking their heads. After the mass shooting that happened at another school last week, you would think our law makers would jump on things to make sure there are better gun laws. Instead, the NRA held their convention in Houston, Texas. The same state that had the devastating shooting that killed 21 people, including 19 kids. Well, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government introduced legislation Monday that would put a freeze on importing, buying or selling handguns, according to CBS News. You see how quick he jumped into action? He said they are capping the number of handguns. He said, "It will be illegal to buy, sell, transfer or import handguns anywhere in Canada," while families of shooting victims stood with him during his announcement. Unlike America, Canada already expanded background checks, but Trudeau is taking action. Maybe our law makers will follow suit, sooner than later. And although there are constant guns being smuggled into the U.S., it doesn't help that gun stores don't do extensive background checks before selling the guns.
