Laverne Cox is out here making history. She is about to have her own Barbie in time for Pride Month. And Laverne is making history because she is Mattel’s first-ever transgender Barbie! Mattel is celebrating the actor and LGBTQ activist with a new doll made to her likeness, just in time for her 50th birthday, on May 29th. According to Variety, the 13-inch figure, which is already a No. 1 release on Amazon, shows Lavern in a deep red tulle gown and in full glam. Her doll will be a part of the Tribute Collection, that has also featured other trailblazers like Oprah Winfrey, Yara Shahidi, Zendaya and even Brandy. Congrats to Laverne.
