If you are planning your spring break trips and are about to take the friendly skies, take those masks with you. Although many cities have decided to drop their mask mandate, the mandate was still in place for the airports and planes. Of course, Philly is currently the only city that reinstated the indoor mask mandate, beginning Monday, April 18. But the deadline to end the mandate for planes was coming up. According to the New York Times, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention extended the federal transportation requirement for two weeks on Wednesday, five days before it was set to expire. This now means the mandate will now expire May 3, if it is not extended yet again. With COVID-19 cases, numbers have been slowly rising again. Meanwhile, airlines and the hospitality industry have been lobbying the White House to overturn both the mask rule and the requirement to test before returning to the United States from abroad. If the mask mandate is dropped in airports and planes, will you continue to wear yours?
