Gabrielle Union Calls Out Disney "Silence" Over "Don't Say Gay" Bill

My home state is something else and something strange. Florida's "Don't Say Gay" bill was talked about a little over a week ago. The bill is actually called HB 1557 or the Parental Rights in Education bill, which is almost like the critical race theory..."they" don't want it talked about in schools. Basically, the bill will limit instructors and educators on what they can say about gender and sexuality. That idea doesn't sit well with Gabrielle Union, who is calling out Disney for keeping silent about the bill. Disney is the biggest theme park that is suppose to welcome everyone and live the magical life, but they haven't said much. Disney CEO Bob Chapek said regarding Florida’s bill, “I want to be crystal clear: I and the entire leadership team unequivocally stand in support of our LGBTQ+ employees, their families, and their communities," according to a memo. He continued, "As we have seen time and again, corporate statements do very little to change outcomes or minds," which basically sounds like he's saying, we care, but we can't talk about it in public. And the lack of talk doesn't do well with Gabrielle. Gabrielle recently did the remake of "Cheaper By the Dozen" movie for Disney and of course her daughter Zaya, identifies with the LGBTQ+ community. This hurts Gabrielle's heart that a company she worked with and was proud to work with, isn't speaking out enough about the new bill. According to Variety, Gabrielle did an interview where she simply says to Disney that they shouldn't fund hate and oppression. Aside from the actress, employees are speaking out as well. Many of them are planning a walkout in response to Disney's CEO soft stance on the bill. Do you think this will have any effect on Disney's stance?
