Depression is real. We all heard the unfortunate news of former Miss America, Cheslie Kryst, falling to her death over last weekend. It took many by surprise, as there was no real note to the reason of her taking her life. Cheslie's mom has spoken out. Her mom, April Simpkins, wrote a very heartfelt note on Instagram explaining Cheslie suffered from depression. April shared her note and memories of her daughter on social media, saying, "While it may be hard to believe, it’s true. Cheslie led both a public and a private life. In her private life, she was dealing with high-functioning depression which she hid from everyone — including me, her closest confidant — until very shortly before her death." April starts her note with, " I have never known a pain as deep as this. I am forever changed." Our hearts go out to Cheslie's family.
