Jussie Smollett is still claiming innocent in that hate crime hoax. He continues to say it wasn't a hoax. Last month, Jussie was convicted for lying to police about a hate crime, but he will be headed to court to be sentenced on March 10. According to ABC News, Cook County Judge James Linn set the sentencing date in Chicago for Jussie who told the judge he was in New York, during a hearing on Zoom. Back in January 2019 Jussie claimed he was attacked by two men yelling racist and anti-gay slurs at him before putting a noose around his neck. He said he never staged the attack, but two brothers said he paid them to stage it. He was found guilty by a jury of five felony counts of disorderly conduct under a subsection of the law that prohibits making false reports to police. He was acquitted on a sixth count. But as far as a sentencing, his charges carry a possible 3 years, but legal experts don't believe he will get hat time since it's a low-level felony.
