Pete Rock Is Suing Nas Over Royalties from "Illmatic"

There is nothing worse than putting your time and effort on someone's album and you still haven't been paid for it, over a decade later. Nas released his Illmatic album back in 1994. Pete Rock produced the track, "The World is Yours" and his team signed a contract with Nas that would allow Pete to get a cut of the proceeds from that song. According to Page Six, Pete is now coming for Nas and is about to sue him for unpaid royalties. Pete Rock said he hasn't received anything from that song and lawyers for Pete have repeatedly demanded that Nas honor the alleged deal, to no avail. So now, Pete is preparing to hit up that lawsuit this month trying to get millions of dollars for that song. But why wait so long to file the lawsuit? Well, Pete said his New Year's resolution was to get his compensation from that album.
