Nicki Minaj and Tracy Chapman Continue With Lawsuit

In 2018, Tracy Chapman got word her song was used in a Nicki Minaj song. The song didn't make it to Nicki's "Queen" album because she was waiting for permission from Chapman's camp. However, the song was leaked and Tracy Chapman filed copyright lawsuit over Nicki's song, "Sorry." Nicki's camp did try several times to get clearance for the sample, but to be fair, it's not on the album because Nicki didn't get the okay . But the song was leaked and was actually played on Funkmaster Flex's show, which is how Tracy Chapman got word of her song being sampled. Well since then, the two still have not reached a settlement over the song, according to The Blast. Nicki and Tracy recently attended a court-ordered mediation for them to work things out, but the mediation was unsuccessful and the case will move on.
