Former NFL Player DeAngelo Williams Pays for 500 Mammograms in Mom's Honor

Now this is a feel good Friday story. Former football player DeAngelo Williams has paid for 500 mammograms. In honor of his late mother and Breast Cancer Awareness month, Williams is helping others. The former Steelers player lost his mom, Sandra Hill, to breast cancer in 2014, but he always honored her. I remember the player even dying the tips of his locks pink to honor his mom. Well he isn't forgetting his mother at all. He has been covering the cost of mammograms for women. Williams first started covering the cost of mammograms in 2015, according to Today. He is still committed to fighting the disease because he is still covering the cost through his nonprofit organization, The DeAngelo Williams Foundation. And since then, his foundation has paid for a total of 500 mammograms at hospitals in Pittsburgh, Memphis, Arkansas and North Carolina. And if you didn't know, Williams was the key person in a push to allow the NFL players to wear pink cleats during Breast Cancer Awareness month. This is a great way to help others and honor the women in his family!
