Matthew Knowles Said Beyonce and Solange Were Tested for BRCA Gene

It's the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness month and it's not just about the ladies taking care of themselves, but also the men. Earlier this week, Matthew Knowles revealed he was diagnosed with breast cancer. Matthew says breast cancer runs in his family but when he noticed blood on his white T-shirt. When he was tested, he found out he was at a high risk for breast cancer. According to TMZ, he called his daughters, Beyonce and Solange fearing they would be high risk as well. Matthew said the ladies handled it right away and was also tested immediately. They tested negative for the mutated BRCA2 gene linked to a higher risk of breast, ovarian and other types of cancer. Since finding out, Matthew is being vocal about his diagnosis to let others, and men, know, that men can also be tested and diagnosed with breast cancer as well. He plans to remove his second breast in January as a protective measure following the removal of 3 lymph nodes already. Matthew is cancer-free right now and doing well.
