Former Roc Nation Boxer is Suing Jay Z Over Severe Injuries

Roc Nation Sports is still in full effect with a roster of athletes. However, one former boxer is coming after Jay Z and the company. TMZ reports Daniel Franco, who signed his deal with Roc Nation Sports back in 2015 is suing Jay Z for severe brain injuries he suffered after taking 3 fights in 79 days. In March of 2017, Franco said he had a really bad flu before a big fight and he couldn't train for about 3 weeks. He wanted to postpone or cancel the fight but Franco claims Roc Nation pushed him to fight and he lost. Instead of resting up, Franco said the sports agency booked him for to fight again in May then a fight in June. Franco claims Roc Nation never took the steps to make sure he was even capable and medically fit to fight. Before his June fight, he claims he believes he suffered 2 skull fractures and a brain bleed before the June 10 fight that could have been detected. Franco lost that fight. He then found out he was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage and went into a coma. Doctors needed to remove a piece of his skull to relieve pressure from the bleed. After waking from his coma, he still has severe neurological and cognitive issues. He is seeking unspecified damages and it sounds like he may win the case if everything proves to be true because the agency is supposed to look out for you.
