Rest in peace to legendary filmmaker, John Singleton. John suffered a stroke over a week ago which put him in a coma. On Monday, there were conflicting reports about the actor being dead, when, in fact, he was still alive, but on life support. According to TMZ, the family released a statement on Monday saying it was a difficult decision but they would take him off of life support. It was also revealed on Monday that John also suffered from hypertension. A rep for the family said John passed "peacefully, surrounded by family and friends." Of course his death affected a lot of people especially those John has directed over the years for his movies. He was even the first African American nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director. But of course, we cannot for get his work for "Boyz in the Hood" and other projects like "Baby Boy," "Higher Learning," even his recent FX show, "Snowfall."
