Fox's "Rel" Show Canceled After One Season

Well that was pretty quick, and I was hoping for something a little better. Actor and comedian Lil Rel Howery was starring in his own sitcom as a Chicago man who got a divorce and had to move on and start over. But of course there was some comedy out of it because he was trying to rebuild his life after his wife slept with his barber. Ouch. The show even starred Sinbad as Rel's dad and comedian, Jessica "Jess Hilarious" Moore. But don't expect to see the show again. According to The Jasmine Brand, the show was canceled after the first season. Did you get a chance to watch the show? I did every now and then, but I would watch it On Demand. And I had to admit, although some of the topics were decent, the execution was okay, delivering some dry comedy every now and then. And that may have been the issue, because unfortunately, a lot of people weren't watching the show. It was getting poor ratings, whereas the season averaged a modest 0.8 adults 18-49 rating. Now I like Rel, so hopefully he will bounce back from this show. Well, at least he had Netflix "Birdbox."
