The Academy Awards wanted and asked Kevin Hart to host the show this year. However, after some past controversial tweets and jokes, Kevin declined the offer, after first accepting. So who would now host? Ellen DeGeneres even sat with Kevin to speak about hosting and she said she even made a call to the academy to get him to host. While they were open to it, Kevin had to think about it again. Well, after some consideration, Kevin has declined to host the awards show. He went on Good Morning America when he said, "I'm not hosting the Oscars this year." So what's going to happen? According to the Huffington Post, there will not be a host this year. This is the first time the show will go hostless since 1989. Word is that producers will delegate the role of emcee to a selection of A-listers who will introduce various segments.
