So last night, the President finally decided to address the nation, however, it wasn't over what we really wanted to hear. The President is still calling for support to build his wall to block the border of Mexico. But the crazy thing is, since he became the President, he said Mexico would pay for the wall. But now, it's on us and now we have the government shutdown. Trump placed blame on the Democrats for the shutdown, while calling the border issue a growing humanitarian and security crisis. This was also his first prime-time address to the nation. But when you hear the Democrats response to his speech, you can't do anything but nod your head even more at the President. The Democratic leaders, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, gave their response President Trump's speech and I felt like they really wanted to call the President an ass. Pelosi basically called the President out by saying he had rejected bipartisan legislation to reopen the government “over his obsession with forcing American taxpayers to waste billions of dollars on an expensive and ineffective wall — a wall he always promised Mexico would pay for.” Democrats say Trump is choosing fear over facts. Clearly the parties differ on their opinions, while Schumer also calling out the President saying, "We don’t govern by temper tantrum.” Hopefully the government shutdown will end very soon, because when you think of it, Trump's decision for the shutdown doesn't really make any sense.
