Last Friday was the hour-long funeral for Aretha Franklin. Yes, it was a star-studded funeral with special invited guests as well as performers. Ariana Grande was one of the special guests, who came up to sing. Even though I thought her attire was inappropriate for a funeral, since she was tugging on her dress, the thing I thought was even more inappropriate was the pastor who presided over the funeral. Bishop Charles H. Ellis III issued an apology to Ariana Grande. For one, he made a racial joke about her name saying he thought it was a taco. But then the way he touched, or groped her, was just hard to watch. It was like he was trying to hold her next to him but his hand was on the side of her breast, where you see his fingers moving on her breast. Although he apologized, it seemed like one of those half apologies. According to Life and Style, the Bishop Ellis said, "It would never be my intention to touch any woman’s breast. I don’t know I guess I put my arm around her. Maybe I crossed the border, maybe I was too friendly or familiar but again, I apologize. The last thing I want to do is to be a distraction to this day. This is all about Aretha Franklin." Do you think he was purposely groping her?
