Kobe Bryant was born on August 23rd, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Kobe attended Lower Merion High School, just outside of Philadelphia, PA. Bryant entered the NBA directly from high school and went on to win five NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was an 18-time All-Star, a 15-time member of the All NBA Team, the 2008 MVP for the NBA, and a 2-time NBA Finals MVP. At age 34, Kobe was named the youngest player in the league history to reach 30,000 career points. Bryant currently ranks 4th on the NBA's all-time regular season and post-season scoring lists.

In addition to being recognized and rewarded for his talents domestically, he is also recognized internationally as a member of the gold-medal-winning U.S. men’s basketball teams at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Tragically, Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna (Gigi) passed away in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, CA on January 26, 2020.
