This Saturday marks 10 years since the death of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old Florida teen fatally shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman.
On Feb. 26th, 2012, Martin was followed and confronted by Zimmerman, who was armed, and shot during the struggle. Zimmerman was later acquitted of second-degree murder charges in a case that dominated national headlines.
The saga led to the creation of the Black Lives Matter movement, which launched the following year.
