We have been hearing word of a possible booster shot for the COVID-19 for a while now. People have been trying to figure out if there were be a third shot needed, especially with the new variants. But yes, there is now a booster shot, however, everyone doesn't have to get this shot. According to CNBC, the FDA has authorized covid vaccine booster shots for people with weakened immune systems. This will help the most vulnerable people from the delta variant. With that being said, the FDA said organ transplant recipients and people who are similarly immunocompromised can receive a third dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. This will help out those who have cancer and HIV who's immune systems haven't responded after getting the two covid vaccine doses. By the way, if you have been fully vaccinated, the FDA emphasized that you are “adequately protected” and currently do not need an extra dose.
