Scarlett Johansson is Suing Disney Over "Black Widow" and Money

So Black Widow premiered in theaters a few weeks ago and of course, it's a Marvel Universe hit, starring Scarlett Johansson, before her character died in The Avengers movie. Disney made bank and so did Scarlett. You would think things were okay, but they aren't Scarlett is actually suing Disney for the movie. So here is the situation. According to TMZ, Scarlett claims her contract with Disney stated the movie would be exclusively released in theaters. But of course because of the pandemic, Disney made it available in theaters and on their streaming service. Scarlett's salary was tied to how well the movie did in the box office. She feels she was cheated. But think about it, Disney streaming subscribers still had to pay a premium price to see it on the streaming as well. However, because it Black Widow was on Disney+ that messed up her money. But Disney isn't sitting back and letting her have the last word. A spokesperson said, "The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Disney has fully complied with Ms. Johansson’s contract and furthermore, the release of Black Widow on Disney+ with Premier Access has significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20M she has received to date.” It's clear to say, Scarlett and Disney will probably not work together again.
