HBO's "Lovecraft Country" Will Not Return for Season 2

This hurt my heart when I heard word. HBO's "Lovecraft Country" had many people tuned in weekly to see what else Tic would find out about his family. The Black, Sci-fi thriller series starred Jurnee Smollet-Bell, Jonathan Majors and more. The show had a cult-like following. But according to Deadline, the show will not be returning for a second season. What? But the enthusiastic reception of the first season of Lovecraft Country, didn't automatically guarantee a renewal, because season 1 was based on Matt Ruff’s book, which served as a roadmap for the series. And like HBO had done before with other shows, they'd create an original second season. However, the creator of the show Misha Green, was left to get her writers together to move on without a book but decided another season wouldn't happen after all. If you don't know why the hype about the show, just go check it out on HBO Max.
