Naomi Osaka Withdraws From French Open Because of Mental Health

Just as Mental Health Awareness has wrapped up, Naomi Osaka is stepping back from the French Open to deal with hers. Naomi has decided to withdraw from the French Open saying she is dealing with depression. She said she has been dealing with depression and anxiety since 2018. But she made the announcement via Twitter and she basically said that she didn't want to be a distraction for not speaking with the press. For her, speaking to journalists gives her anxiety because she is an introvert. She even mentioned that the reason we see her on the tennis court with her headphones is because it helps to dull her social anxiety. So we wish her well in taking this stance. By the way, Naomi is the highest paid female athlete so hopefully this won't stop her from doing her things with companies.
