George Floyd's Family See Justice Served After Derek Chauvin Found Guilty

It has been a long year, it seems after George Floyd was killed by a cop who had his knee on Floyd's neck. Protests broke out last year because people were sick and tired of things like this happening. But the question was, will the justice system be on our side after so many cases of cops killing unarmed black men, never go the way we think they should? Well in this case, Derek Chauvin was found guilty of excessive force when trying to arrest Floyd. After about 2 weeks of the murder trial, Chauvin was found guilty. Closing arguments began on Monday with the verdict coming down and announced close to 5 p.m. on Tuesday. According to TMZ, Chauvin was found guilty on all 3 charges; 2nd degree murder, 3rd-degree murder and 2nd-degree manslaughter. The judge revoked his bail and Chauvin went straight to jail. Floyd's family says they can breathe a little easier after hearing the verdict. Although it was a victory for the family, it's still a loss of life and it felt more like relief, rather than a celebration, as the world watched and waited. We know this is only a start.
