Lee Daniels to Executive Produce a Classic Thriller for FX

If you watch FX, then you know there are always some interesting and very entertaining shows on the network. Well Lee Daniels will be lending his hand to FX because he will be producing a pilot for a potential series that is based on the novel "The Spook Who Sat By the Door" according to Deadline. That novel also turned into a thriller movie in 1973. The story is based on the fictional tale of the CIA’s first Black agent. It was mentioned in 2018 this would be in the words, but Lee got the go-ahead. Lee even said the book was one of his dad's favorite. So here is a breakdown of the story; a black man, Dan Freeman, gets recruited as part of an affirmative-action program. After a very competitive selection process he trains in high-level combat and espionage. However, following this training, this model recruit is rewarded with a post in the photocopying department, 'left by the door' as a token of the CIA’s racial equality. This should be interesting, however, no word on when the pilot will run just, yet. But the show will also have others working with Lee, like The Twilight Zone and The First Purge director Gerard McMurray, and Leigh Dana Jackson, who worked and Raising Dion.
