Cardi B Apologizes After Being Accused of Mocking Hindu Goddess

People can easily be offended these days and Cardi B has offended some. As she was gearing up for the release of her Reebok line (which is out Friday), she posed for a photo some got some people upset. as she unveiled her sneaker collection on the cover of Footwear News, she basically posed like the Hindu goddess Durga, giving her 10 arms while holding a pair of sneakers. The Hindu community didn't approve of that look. Some were mad because they said it wasn't an honor, but disrespect, according to Hip Hop Wired. Tweets were coming in about how Cardi was disrespecting their culture. However, when Cardi got word of how people were feeling, she jumped on it and quickly apologized, although, it sounds like she is throwing Reebok creatives under the bus, but not really. Cardi said in a post, "When I did the Reebok shoot, the creatives were telling me, 'You’re going to represent a goddess,' that she represents strength, femininity, and liberation." She continued, "That’s something that I love and that I’m all about, and I thought that it was dope." Then she apologized saying, "But if people think I’m offending [their] culture or their religion, I want to say I’m sorry," and that was not her intent. Cardi also said she should have done more research and although she can't change the past, she will do research the next time.
