Nipsey Hussle's Estate Sues Crips Over Trademark Infringement

This sounds like a touchy subject here. Nipsey Hussle's estate isn't too happy. The estate is suing the Crips LLC over the slogan "The Marathon Continues." Billboard reports Nipsey's brother, Samiel Asghdom filed the lawsuit. Samiel, also known as Blacc Sam, is suing for trademark infringement, false advertising and unfair competition over their use of the catchphrase "The Marathon Continues." The estate claims the Crips organization filed a couple of trademarks for the phrase last year for various thing. However, Nipsey's family owns several of those Marathon trademarks related to Nipsey's well-known clothing store. On top of that, the Crips filed the trademark less than 2 months after Nip was murdered. It could be seen as a sign of a tribute for Nipsey, but that's not how the estate looks at it. Blacc Sam is asking the court to order the Crips LLC and Hollis to destroy all unlawful products and to compensate Nipsey’s estate for any advertising and other expenses to dispel public confusion.
