TikTok Reportedly Has a Buyer and Microsoft Lost the Bid

The President has been threatening to shut down TikTok in the United States because it's a Chinese-owned company. He said the app would end in September if someone, a U.S. company didn't buy the app. Well according to CNN Business, TikTok and Oracle will become business partners in the United States. When we first heard the news about the president trying to shut the app down, Microsoft put in a bid to purchase the app. As far as what the deal includes between TikTok and Oracle remains unclear, but it wasn't described as an outright sale and it will be a restructuring of the app. Oracle won the bid in operation after the Chinese app rejected Microsoft bid at 11th hour. This will probably put the president at ease over the idea of security issues from a Chinese-owned app.
