Attorney for R. Kelly, Says The Singer Was Attacked By Inmate

Ever since R. Kelly has been locked up on federal charges of child pornography and other crimes as well. But since he has been sitting in jail waiting for his trial, his attorneys have been trying everything to get him to wait it out, outside of his cell. When the pandemic hit, R. Kelly's attorney was trying to get him out of jail for fear of the singer contracting the coronavirus. But according to CNN, his attorneys say he was attacked in his jail cell by a fellow inmate, and they are asking for R. Kelly to be released again. R. Kelly's attorney, Doug Anton said they got word R. Kelly was on his bed when another inmate came in and started to punch him, but guards stopped the assault almost immediately. The singer didn't sustain any injuries. However, another attorney said the legal team got conflicting reports about R. Kelly's injuries, but haven't been able to speak with him. TMZ said the inmate was upset they facility was on lockdown because of all of the protesters for R. Kelly outside of the facility. We hear the singer is now in solitary confinement.
