Nia Long Was Told She Was ‘Too Old’ to Cast in ‘Charlie’s Angels’

Nia Long is in the top trending movie on Netflix, Fatal Affair. The movie also stars Omar Epps. In a recent interview, she said she was passed over for the role of Alex Munday in the 2000 movie Charlie's Angels. The role went to Lucy Liu. She was told she did not get the role because she looked too old. Lucy Liu is two years older than Nia Long. Nia said, I think that was a nice way to say you're a little too Black because if you notice there were no brown skin actors. "I was like, 'What?'" the actress said. "I love Drew Barrymore, I think she's amazing, but I think that was just a nice way to say you're a little too Black. Personally, that's what I think. Because if you notice there were no brown skin [actors]. I mean, honestly, I would have been the blackest thing in the film."
