WNBA Players Want Co-Owner to Step Down After Black Lives Matter Comments

If you are working for someone, you at least want to make sure they have your best interest, however, some people don't feel that way. According to Hip Hop Wired, some players for the WNBA want Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler to step down as co-owner of Atlanta Dream. She basically called Black armed protestors who gathered at the headquarters of the Ku Klux Klan in response to public threats against Black Americans, a “mob rule” during an interview with FOX News. By the way, open carry is legal in Georgia. Some players say even though the WNBA are trying to convey the message they are with the Black Lives Matter, they don't feel Senator Loeffler is practicing that same idea. She is even opposed to the WNBA’s encouragement of silent protest that allowing players to wear protest messaging on their practice jerseys before each game during the season. She prefers the players to wear flags on their jerseys. And on top of that, she believes politics should be removed from sports. Meanwhile, the WNBA is trying to clean up her remarks by saying she hasn't serves as an active owner in almost a year, but the WNBA still supports its players and the advocacy of Black Lives Matter.
