Mahershala Ali To Play Dream Role as Legendary Boxer

Mahershala Ali seems to have been laying low for a while. The last thing I remember seeing him acting on was "Green Book" and then the series for HBO, "True Detective." Well it seems like HBO really likes the actor because he has been tapped for another HBO series. According to Vulture, Mahershala has been tapped to play legendary boxer, Jack Johnson, who was the world’s first Black heavyweight champion. It will be an upcoming HBO limited series called Unruly. Mahershala said he just wants the opportunity to go on "the hero's journey," because he has never done that. He said that when he played Johnson in a 2000 revival of the playThe Great White Hope. We will be looking forward to see him get prepared for the role. And we definitely can't wait to see him as Marvel's Blade.
