Ne-Yo Catching Heat Over Comments During George Floyd's Funeral

With everything that has been going on for more the 10 days, people aren't blind to the news. However, some people still may not have the right words to say certain things, kind of like Ne-Yo. On Tuesday, George Floyd was laid to rest in Houston. During his funeral services, Ne-Yo was present to perform a Boyz II Men's song,"It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday," but it was something he said that had people scratching their heads and giving the singer the side-eye. Ne-Yo said, "This man changed the world. I just want to thank George Floyd for the sacrifice so my kids can be alright. I appreciate the sacrifice, I really do." He does know George didn't sacrifice his life, but was murdered right? Meanwhile, Twitter let Ne-Yo have it, with one person saying some celebrities just need to keep quiet. Another person tweeted, I want y'all to stick with your talents and shut up about everything else. I'm just hoping Ne-Yo-s emotions got the best of him and he thought about his choice of words later.
