Student Sues University of Miami for Tuition Reimbursement

The COVID-19 pandemic screwed up a lot of plans and really messed up students who would take that walk across stage for graduation. But think of all of the college students. Many of them had to find ways to get back to their hometowns when colleges and universities shut down for the pandemic. A lot of schools are still rolling, just with online courses. However, that doesn't make every student feel good about pushing out all of that money for tuition. The University of Miami is being sued by a student for tuition reimbursement. The student filed the papers saying that she and other students enrolled at the university "lost the benefit of the education for which they paid" due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to TMZ. The student, who is an architecture student, says the online course are basically whack and sub-par compared to in-person classes, especially for her major. The student has no access to facilities or faculty. But the tuition isn't the only problem. Students paid miscellaneous fees for things like a student center fee, wellness center fee, activity fees and several other fees and clearly they cannot benefit from those at this time. But what pisses off the students even more is that the school has not returned the money to the students for services that aren't currently being provided. Considering how many people are struggling at this point, it does seem fair to at least return some of the monies to students.
