It seems like when it comes to movie and film deals, Damon Dash gets caught up in them. Remember there was a little bad blood between Dame and Lee Daniels over Dame's investment in one of Lee's movies? Lee had to pay Dame for that. Well now it looks like the shoe is on the other foot. Dame has to pay up $300k in a lawsuit over a mafia movie to Edwyna Brooks, who is an author. She sued Dame about a year ago claiming they had a deal back in 2015 for Damon to direct a mafia film based on her book series, according to TMZ. She claims Dame wasted production time and money with his side projects. After Brooks fired him, Dame was still trying to claim co-ownership over the movie and Brooks claims Dame tried to sell it on iTunes and his own website. He never had her permission to do so and a judge sided with Brooks for Dame to pay up.
