COVID-19 Hits Harder for Black Americans Because of Health Disparities

We know this coronavirus pandemic is affecting a lot of people, however it seems like it is hitting the black communities it a bit harder. Dr. Anthony Fauci even spoke about the disproportionate data during a briefing earlier this week. Dr. Fauci did note that underlying health issues that are known to run rampant in the Black community like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity in addition to limited access to quality health care, plays a large role in the number of Black patients succumbing to the pandemic, according to Hip Hop Wired. He said there is a health disparity and said the access to good healthcare is not as good as the general population and said it's unfair. Well a lot of people think it is unfair. Dr. Fauci states that although city, state and government officials can’t address the issues head-on at this time due to the pandemic, they have made a commitment to ensuring that Black communities receive quality healthcare to help those affected recover and get better and that is at least something good to hear.
