Top Doctors Warn as Many as 240,000 People Could Die From COVID-19

These numbers are getting crazy. With the coronavirus pandemic, people are still not listening to the idea of social distancing. Can you believe some people are still hanging out in groups? I read that police had to break up a large gathering of a little girl's birthday party. I read there were a group of guys playing basketball. What is going on? We have to take this more serious, especially when we have the government's top doctors saying many more people could die from the coronavirus. According to NBC News, as many as 240,000 people in the U.S. could die from COVID-19, but wait, that's only with strict social distancing measures in place. Dr. Deborah Birx, Vice President Mike Pence’s coronavirus response coordinator, said that between 1.5 and 2.2 million could die without the intervention. From the last count early in the week, the disease has killed 3,768 people and infected more than 185,000. This serves as a warning that Americans have to do better and follow the words from their cities when the governors tell us to practice social distancing.
