Last week, we got word the coronavirus concern became a pandemic, forcing things to close from entertainment venues, to postponing concerts and even school closures. While some college students are having to complete their courses online or even being forced to return home, there are smaller kids who will suffer. Many local schools have gone on lockdown for two weeks and what's sad about that is that some kids only get a chance to eat meals while at school. So what now? How do we take care of the babies? Thankfully, the city will do something about that. The City of Philadelphia announced that kids can be provided with meals at some locations. They posted a variety of locations, schools, where kids can pick up meals. On top of that, there are safe spaces for the kids as well. Check HERE. You will find locations for meal pick ups from 9a-noon. There are even a few local restaurants who are offering free meals to kids as well. For instance, I got an email from Snap Custom Pizza that the restaurant will serve any kid, k-12 a free cheese pizza and drink between 11a-1p as long as they ask for the school lunch special, Monday-Friday. Also, while the schools our out, some teachers may have handed out work packets to the kids, or you check a few sites who are offering free online courses to as well. For instance, Scholastic has launched a learning portion HERE. Here are also a few ways to keep the little ones learning.
